First, the sci­en­tists se­lect the bac­te­ria that they wish to use. The bac­te­ria are nour­ished and prop­a­gated in jars. Hy­dro­gel is added to the bac­te­ria to pro­duce ink. The 3D printer prints the ink in the re­quired shape.
