Evo­lu­tion taught us to be wary of ven­omous an­i­mals, ac­cord­ing to Ger­man and Swedish brain re­searchers. In an ex­per­i­ment with 48 six­month-old kids, the sci­en­tists showed that the ba­bies’ pupils ex­panded due to stress at the sight of snakes and spi­ders. The ba­bies did not re­act to fish and flow­ers.
