Amer­i­can sci­en­tists have used nan­otech­nol­ogy to place the light-gen­er­at­ing lu­ciferase en­zyme in the leaves of wa­ter­cress, so the plant emits suf­fi­cient light for you to read. Now, they aim to cre­ate plants that can light up a ta­ble, and trees which can re­place street lights.
