New cornea from a dead person

-

The cornea is the external, clear layer of the eye, which covers the pupil, and if it is injured, the vision becomes blurred. About 100,000 cornea transplants are carried out annually. Using a circular scalpel, a central piece of the cornea of a deceased donor is cut off. A similar piece is cut off the patient’s eye, so the donor cornea can be stitched on.

?? ?? When the damaged cornea has been removed, the donor cornea is applied.
