Supernova shows its pulsating heart
SHOOTING STAR · The pulsar in the Crab Nebula
Astronomers have created a new image of the Crab Nebula, which is the remains of a supernova. The image is based on data from the Hubble, Chandra, and Spitzer telescopes and includes visible light, X-radiation, and infrared light. The white centre is a pulsar: a neutron star that rotates its own axis extremely fast.
