Accurate wring breaks spaghetti in two

If you wring a strand of spaghetti, you weaken it along its entire length, causing it to break more easily. So, you can make it divide in two.

RUPTURE WITHOUT WRINGING

A strand of spaghetti can be substantially bent, before it breaks. On the other hand, the centre is influenced to such an extent that a rupture causes a violent recoil, breaking the spaghetti into four pieces.

RUPTURE WITH WRINGING

When a 24-cm-long strand of spaghetti is wrung at least 250 degrees, it cannot be bent very much, before it breaks. On the other hand, the recoil is reduced, so it only breaks in two.
