Fun afternoon session at U3A

-

Seymour and District U3A held an afternoon session for those enrolling for the second semester, starting in July.

The afternoon was turned into a great social event with afternoon tea and a musical presentation, while the U3A instrumental group, Music Muster, and the singing group, Jessica’s Corral, combined to present lots of well-known songs.

U3A is now off to a good start for the second half of the year, with some 21 courses in place and many new volunteers to make the organisation run smoothly.

The next event, open to everyone in the community will be a Melting Pot session on August 1 at 1.30 pm at Chittick Place, entitled ‘Let’s Face It — Death and Dying’.

While the title might be confronting, this will provide an opportunity for insights into how we can embrace the final journey, rather than worrying about it.

Melbourne celebrant and compassionate communicator Cherie Scott will share experiences from her own life and her professional career, ranging from the moving to the humorous.

U3A welcomes new members. The office in Chittick Place is open every Monday from 10 am until noon, or phone 0448 153 572, email seymu3a@gmail.com
