KIT HARRINGTON
Jon Snow
So, you’re definitely not dead this season…
I’m not dead this year! I can now say that.
Was it all cloak and dagger on season six, getting to and from set?
Not really. I thought they would get me a private jet in, helicopter to set… But not much of that, no. There were drones on set during the [filming of] “Battle Of The Bastards”, though. We’d have this [alert] ‘drone drone drone!’ and I’d have to run under an umbrella and get taken to a tent. That felt quite exciting.
Will season seven explore more of the rather dour Jon’s optimistic side?
I think there is an optimism in seven, definitely at the start. At the end of six, being crowned King in the North, there’s a small smile on his face. He can start getting stuff done, and start trying to save people and protect people, and do what he’s been trying to do for ages. I mean, it’s maybe not optimism – the world’s fucking ending!
Do you feel safe now – surely even GOT can’t kill you twice?
I don’t actually. I felt safe in season six because I thought it would be bad storytelling to kill me in the [same] season I’d been resurrected! But as for seasons beyond six, it’s back to business. He’s in mortal danger like anyone else.
