RELEASED 12 JULY TBC | 115 minutes Despite a tacky-sounding title, this is proper concept-driven SF in anime form. Pity it’s so depressing that it’ll struggle to find an audience.

In a bloody near-future, an American agent hunts a man who seems to be able to trigger genocides. Apart from its harrowing violence, the film throws in literary references that’ll provoke accusations of pretension, but it’s just exercising its brain. Smartly written and sumptuously made, but a hard watch.
