"IT'S COOL TO SEE HIM EVOLVE AND GET STRONGER..."
Kevin Durand, Vasiliy Fet
Fet was introduced as a lone wolf in a season one. Now he’s practically got posse. Does that grate on him?
First off his respect for Setrakian is massive and he knows, and understands, he has a lot to learn from him. He knows in order to become the ultimate Strigoi exterminator, he needs to sit back and learn from the professor. On the other side of things, there is a lot of tension between him and the rest of the group from time to time. But he’s a creature of change and is adapting pretty well. There might even be a romantic storyline in there.
He definitely has a connection with Dutch ( Ruta Gedmintas). Does she get his heart pumping?
He’s intrigued by her on a whole spectrum of levels. They both share a darkness and it’s one of those things where they have an innate draw to each other. It’s interesting to explore that this year. It’s nice to see someone draw light out of him.
How does Fet deal with the amped up threats of the Master and the vampires overtaking the city?
He is doing everything he
can to learn and attack. He has his own ideas
on how he is going to secure his city,
bit by bit. Not everybody agrees with
what he wants to do but he starts to do it and
finds success. It’s cool to see him evolve and
get stronger.
Fet is featured in the books. Will we see much of that arc this season?
In the books, he wrote a lot of journals about what he was experiencing, not only about how to kill the vampires, but a lot of the time he spent time writing about how he felt so alive in this apocalyptic setting. It’s cool how the writers incorporate it this season.
