The final big panel of the weekend was a masterclass in keeping people entertained without actually revealing much information about 2017’s Episode VIII and 2018’s Han Solo standalone movie. So what have we learned? Well, we didn’t get a title for Episode VIII, though its director, rian Johnson, did reveal that he played a Stormtrooper in Rogue One, and that his movie will pick up immediately after The Force Awakens. (Though we kind of already knew that because of clues the cast had let slip.) It was also confirmed (officially) that the man granted the challenging task of playing the young Han Solo will be Alden ehrenreich. Though we already knew that too because it was such a badly kept secret that pretty much the whole world was treating it as fact anyway. So aside from the info that ehrenreich did screentests on the Millennium Falcon – and with Chewbacca – we didn’t actually learn much at all. But sometimes it’s as much about the journey as the destination. right?
