The action star is back to hunt aliens in Mauro Borrelli’s Final Recall

The artist formerly known as Blade is back in Final Recall. So we called him up for a chat.

BRIEF ENCOUNTER

“I actually was on the film for just a week. In this scenario, the task for me was to be able to make some sense out of my character and make some good character choices. Mauro Borrelli, fantastic artist, his vision is absolutely spectacular. In that week’s time, we did have a great opportunity to bond as friends, as fellow artists and in our own ways collaborate on the film.”

THEY WALK AMONG US!

“I’ve seen a couple of aliens myself. I’m absolutely convinced they were aliens. They didn’t act with the same humanity I’m accustomed to dealing with humans!”

NOVEL IDEAS

“A little something to spread the wings and test the creative muscles, Talon Of God [Snipes’s novel] is a supernatural thriller which centres around a young female doctor who is, unbeknownst to her, chosen to become one of the holy warriors here on Earth. She and her mentor, Talon, who is the current steward of the Earth, battle against the evil forces trying to recreate a hell on Earth.”

THE BLADE LEGACY

“One of the coolest characters from the movies when I grew up was a character Richard Roundtree played in a film called Shaft and then William Marshall played Blacula which was one of the first black vampires. I thought, ‘Man, if I get a chance to do Shaft and Blacula with Bruce Lee in the same movie, this is a go! We have to do this!’ It’s exciting to see what’s happening in that genre of comic book adaptations, how at one point classical actors were shunned for even considering doing these kinds of movies and now they’re clamouring to be a part of them.”
