COP CAR

In the Philip K Dick story, they were called “spinners” and it was a flying car. I didn’t want it to change shape whether it was flying or it was on the street. So the spinner was a vertical take-off and landing, forward-motion vehicle. Like with a helicopter, you have to see down to where you’re going to land, so we put the front wheels on these stubby stalks so the driver can look down between the front wheels. That’s where that design came from.
