Michael Landes was the fresh-faced Jimmy olsen in the first season of

Lois & Clark back in 1993, but lost the role for subsequent seasons because the producers thought he looked too much like leading man Dean Cain. “Surely they knew that when they cast me!” he points out. he’s since starred in Special Unit 2, Final Destination 2, British sitcoms Miranda and Love Soup, and Sky1’s Hooten And The Lady.

Would you like to play the role of Jimmy Olsen again?

As me now? Would I like to play an older Jimmy Olsen? that would be cool – we’ve never seen that. But yes I loved that part, I would be open to it.

What would Jimmy be doing now?

Well if he was a photojournalist... that whole world’s changed right, because everyone’s a photojournalist now with their iPhones! So I don’t know. Maybe through all those years with Lois Lane he’s a photographer/private investigator, or writer.

did you get any souvenirs from the set?

yes! Ironically my mother called me the other day and said, “your Dad has saved every single thing you’ve given him, and there’s a whole bunch of Lois

& Clark stuff.” the crew made Lois & Clark cards, and there were three Jimmy Olsen ones, so I have a handful of those. Plus the back of my set chair and loads of other random things.
