PASSENGER PLANE DISAPPEARS AND GETS A LITTLE LOST

-

APlane that’s Carrying 191 people goes through a patch of turbulence. While the passengers of Montego air Flight 828 arrive at their destination seemingly unscathed, however, they soon discover they’ve been missing – presumed dead – for the past five and a half years. some loved ones have moved on, others have died, and a few of the survivors have started hearing voices... if that sounds like a mystery with the potential to frustrate like Lost did in its later years, don’t worry – creator and showrunner Jeff rake has a plan. “When you pitch an event mystery like this in 2018, the studios and networks want to know that you know where you’re going,” he assures sFX. “if you don’t have a road map, they’re not buying the show. there’s a six-season road map. i know the season-one finale. i know the series finale. the mystery will be solved.” and you’d hope so, seeing as rake’s had years to think about the story – he originally pitched it (unsuccessfully) a decade ago. “nobody was interested, and i just put it on the shelf,” he recalls. “years went by, Malaysian airlines happened [Flight 370, that was lost in 2014], and all of a sudden, there was a real missing airplane. i thought to myself, ‘Well, my crazy pie-in-the-sky idea isn’t so pie-in-the-sky after all.’ “nobody usually wants to hear an old idea,” he continues, “but god bless them, my Warner bros executives said, ‘that’s pretty good.’ so an old idea in a vacuum, informed by an event in the real world, can give new life to a pitch.”
