SADIE SINK IS MAX

-

tell us about where we find max in season three…

She’s much more aware of what’s going on in Hawkins and she’s established friends. Things are a little bit better with her and Billy now that she’s straightened things out. I think I got to learn a lot more about who Max is this season because we get to see a lot of different sides of her.

how is her relationship with Lucas?

Max and Lucas’s relationship is hilarious. They’re on again, off again. She’ll wake up and say, “You know what, I don’t want a boyfriend today.” She’ll dump him, and then they’ll get back together.

max and eleven are friends now, what’s that like?

Millie is my best friend off screen, and it’s great because Max and Eleven have become best friends on screen too. This friendship is kind of what the show really needed because for the first two seasons it was very much centred around the boys’ friendship. It’s just nice to have a girl power friendship. Max kind of takes her under her wing and shows her how to find her own style and find who she is.

What’s it like working with the Duffer Brothers?

I feel so comfortable with Matt and Ross. They just collaborate really well. It’s like they work together as one, and that’s amazing.

and Sean Levy?

Sean’s the best. He’s so fun. He’s like our cool dad always making dad jokes. He’s able to get us in the mood. He plays really loud music... I love it. He’s such a great energy to have on set.

What do you hope audiences take away from this season?

It’s really gory. It’s super scary. I know it’s gonna live up to the hype, and I hope they agree. It kind of leaves off in a tricky situation. I know as soon as the credits start rolling for the final episode people are just gonna want more.
