DARREN SCOTT EDITOR RAVES

A new Star Trek series! Yes, another one! I make that six series currently in some form of production which is, quite frankly, utterly brilliant for me.

RANTS

Please, please can we get new Star Trek in the UK soon? There’s a whole series of Short Treks just sitting there waiting…

My Twitter was previously a place of sci-fi, comics and pugs, but now it’s becoming increasingly political. My head hurts.

IAN BERRIMAN DEPUTY EDITOR RAVES

Best news of the month: the launch of the MUBI Library. Some great titles in there, including Alphaville, Border, Night Tide, Suspiria and The 10th Victim.

Loving the Beeb’s new Programme Explorer (genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/explorer). I’ve found tons of great radio documentaries through it, including one on Louis & Bebe Barron’s score for Forbidden Planet (bit.ly/forbscore).

JONATHAN COATES ART EDITOR RAVES

Josh Gad’s Reunited Apart has brightened lockdown with its joyous reunions of some of our favourite ’80s movie casts. Wonderful to watch the creators and actors from The Goonies (including Steven Spielberg!), Splash and Back To The Future so obviously enjoying reminiscing about the making of these movies.

Loving Playmobil’s Back To The Future DeLorean set. Gremlins next, please!

ED RICKETTS PRODUCTION EDITOR RAVES

David Lynch is back doing his weather forecasts on YouTube during lockdown. IT’S A BEAUTIFUL THING.

Can’t wait to read The Sunken Land Begins To Rise Again by M John Harrison.

RANTS

Bit worrying that Disney is subtly altering its old films, such as covering Darryl Hannah’s arse in Splash (eh, Jon?). Just leave ’em.

NICK SETCHFIELD EDITOR-AT-LARGE RAVES

Loved The Vast Of Night on Amazon Prime. An intoxicatingly atmospheric love child of Close Encounters and American Graffiti, full of small town paranoia and strangeness. Definitely recommended.

Enjoyed Pete Paphides’s memoir Broken Greek. Mainly about growing up loving pop music, but fun sidesteps into ’70s/’80s sci-fi and paranormal phenomena too.

TARA BENNETT US EDITOR RAVES

Always happy to hear Henson projects like the Labyrinth sequel developing. Cautiously optimistic about Scott Derrickson directing. Ecstatic if fancast of Janelle Monae as new Goblin Queen happens.

RANTS

Space Force. It’s always problematic when a comedy has no jokes.
