Release The Kraken!

- David Castaneda is Number Two How does Diego handle being displaced in time?

Diego has never really felt like he fits in, so it’s not really outside his comfort zone to be in a different era. Everything he sees is an opportunity. It all goes back to his father, and trying to understand him, and trying to figure out what is the reason he’s been put in this position, whether it’s in 2019 or back in time. And how can he make amends to fix the relationship with his father?

A lot of it is to find a medium on how to become a leader. Diego’s big problem, since he was growing up, was the fact that dad obviously put him as number two because the competitive nature of him would make Luther become better. Also his speech impediment really didn’t lend itself to pressure situations and thinking fast and being in command. And can he save the day, but also, can he save himself? By saving himself, can he actually be the leader he always thought he could be? How would you describe Diego’s arc for the season? Diego frequently found himself in the middle of epic brawls. Season two introduces Lila, who also excels at hand-to-hand combat. Has Diego finally met his match?

Oh man, she’s a badass. He’s met his match, 100%! The choreography this year is more intricate and detailed. There are a few fight scenes that I got a chance to look at, and they blew me away. Not because I’m in it, but because of the time and effort that took place to get those fights in. Before we started shooting, I didn’t tell anyone, but I went to Thailand for a month to train Muay Thai, so that once we got to set I could contribute rather than just being a person who’s told exactly what to do.
