It took Van Cleef & Arpels several years to gather the 115 Mozambique rubies required for its latest inspired creation. Rubis Secret is neither watch nor jewellery, but a perfect blend of both, recalling a heritage of creating ‘secret’ watches from the days when women had no need to know the time. The bracelet alone is indicative of the craftsmanship that defines the maison’s finest innovations, its 151.25 carats’ worth of red gems set by hand in three rows over 1500 hours, with diamonds interlaced for an even more striking effect. The diamondframed watch itself is concealed in a side drawer, invisible until pressed, seamlessly integrated into the masterpiece. POA
