on a warm tropical night the sleek little launch leaps across a choppy dark sea from Malé international airport towards tiny baa atoll in the indian ocean. The handful of passengers is buzzing with anticipation. We are on our way to a marvellous party! actually, three days of gourmet food, celebrations and champagne to mark the opening of an exciting new resort in the Maldives.

Retro-inspired, effortless cool Finolhu is the newest venture of The small Maldives island Company (TsMiC) that includes the luxurious resort of amilla Fushi in its portfolio. since opening in 2015, amilla has already earned its place in the hearts of many sophisticated international visitors.

Finolhu has a different vibe and a unique atmosphere, based on the ideas of australian colleagues, Chairman Michael Flynn and Mark hehir, who is the visionary CEo and Curator. The playful theme is “retro beach chic” with a “lively beach club atmosphere that recalls the days of glamorous, carefree getaways of the ‘50s and ‘60s”.
