AFRICA IS NO ISLAND

Following a local launch in 2016, Morocco’s MACAAL has now opened to international audiences. The museum is the work of art collectors Alami Lazraq and his son, Othman, as part of their charitable Fondation Alliances, dedicated to supporting cultural development in Morocco. Africa Is No Island brings together the photographic works of 40 artists, curated by African photography association, Afrique in Visu. Cross-continental connections are the focus, ranging from Joana Choumali’s portraits to Baudouin Mouanda’s photos of the flamboyant Congo Brazzaville social circles.
