CRYSTAL ON THE MOSELLE

Crystal Bach was recently christened with all the ceremony expected for the industry’s first all-suite, all-butler rivership. Although she is currently plying the Rhine, the 106-suite ship is set to explore new waters from 28 May 2019, when she sails her first 10-day roundtrip Enchanting Moselle itinerary from Amsterdam, through the Netherlands and Germany. The Moselle is a left tributary of the Rhine, joining the more famous river at Koblenz. Terraced hillside vineyards climb up from the riverside, producing some of the world’s finest Rieslings. You’ll have a chance to sample these during a visit to Bernkastel, before an overnight stay in Trier, with its Roman ruins and 12th-century castle, and returning to Amsterdam via storybook Cochem, Bonn (Beethoven’s hometown) and Arnhem, the Dutch site of WWII’s Operation Market-Garden.
