NOTES

The pattern is worked using the amigurumi method. Work in a continuous spiral without closing off the round with a ss. It may help to use a stitch marker in the first st of each round, moving it up as you work. Head and Body are made in one piece; Legs, Beak and Wing are sewn to the body.

BODY !MAKE 2" Using Yarn A, ch7.

Round 1 (RS) Dc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 4 ch, 5dc in next ch, rotate to work along opposite side of foundation ch, dc in each of next 4 ch, 4dc in last ch. [18 sts]

Round 2 (Dc in each of next 6 sts, 2dc in each of next 3 sts) twice. [24 sts]

Round 3 Ch13, dc in 2nd ch from hook, htr in each of next 3 ch, dc in each of next 8 ch, cont on body; dc in each of next 6 sts, htr in next st, 3tr in next st, htr in next st, dc in each of next 15 sts, cont along opposite side of foundation ch of flamingo’s neck; dc in each of next 8 ch, htr in each of next 2 ch, 3tr in next ch, dc in last ch, ss to top of head. [52 sts] Fasten off leaving a tail. BEAK Using Yarn C, ch4.

Row 1 (RS) Htr in fourth ch from hook (first 3 ch counts as first htr), turn. [2 sts]

Row 2 Ch1, 2dc in next st, htr in next st, turn. [3 sts]

Row 3 Ch1, dc in each st to end, turn. Change to Yarn B.

Row 4 Ch1, dc in each st to end. Fasten off. WING !MAKE 3, 1 IN EACH COLOUR" Ch4. Row 1 (RS) 2tr in fourth ch from hook (first 3 ch counts as first tr), turn. [3 sts] Row 2 Ch12, ss into st at base of beg ch-12, (ch12, ss in next st) twice. [3 loops] Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. LEGS !MAKE 2" Using Yarn C. Row 1 (RS) Ch22 (leg), cont with (ch3, ss in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook) 3 times, cont along main leg, ss in each of next 22 ch. Fasten off. Knot leg to create knee. TO MAKE UP Using beads for eyes, sew beads with black thread onto head at base of 3tr group. Match 2 layers of body. Before sewing 2 pieces tog, pin beak and legs in position. Sew in backstitch all around body using a tapestry needle and Yarn A. For wing, place 3 parts next to each other (using image as a guide) and sew with a few hidden sts using Yarn A.
