Show it some love and let it live on as crafty two-tone cowl. Simply snip a long rectangle from the jersey fabric (or you could even grab an old scarf), then insert this motif panel. Pretty, lacy loveliness – job done. NOTES The Motifs are joined as you go and the panel can be worked to any size to fit the scarf of your choice. LARGE MOTIF

Wind yarn 12 times round index finger, remove resulting loops of yarn and secure with a ss.

Round 1 (RS) Work 36 dc into the centre of the loop enclosing all strands, ss to first dc to join. [36 dc]

Round 2 (RS) Ch4, dtr2tog over next 2 dc, ch5, *dtr3tog over next 3dc, ch5, repeat from * 10 more times, ss into top of first dtr2tog to join.

Round 3 (RS) Ch1 (does not count as st), (3dc, picot, 3dc) in first ch-5 sp, *(3dc, picot, 3dc) in next ch-5 sp; repeat from * 10 more times, ss to first dc to join. Fasten off. SUBSEQUENT LARGE MOTIFS Join in Round 3 as shown on the Chart replacing the picot with (ch1, ss into correspond­ing picot on adjacent Motif, ch1). SMALL MOTIF All Small Motifs are joined as you go in Round. Wind yarn 12 times round index finger, remove resulting loops of yarn and secure with a ss.

Round 1 *9dc into ring, ch1, ss into picot on Large Motif using the Chart as a guide; repeat from * 3 more times, joining 4 Large Motifs together. TO MAKE UP Weave in all ends. Insert the Lace Panel of Motifs into a T-shirt scarf or similar by hemming along both short sides to attach.
