The main scarf is worked in rows back and forth. We have written the pattern to create a regular pattern repeat of V-st rows and treble rows, but

With Yarn A, Ch43. Row 1 (RS) Tr in 4th ch from hook, tr in each st to end, turn. [41 tr] Row 2 Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), tr in each st to end, turn. Rows 3-9 Repeat Row 2. Row 10 Ch3, *skip next st, v-st in next st, skip next st; repeat from * to last st, tr in last st, turn. [13 V-sts] Row 11 Ch3, * v-st in ch-1 sp of next v-st; repeat from * across to last st, tr in top of beg ch-3, turn. Rows 12-14 Repeat Row 11. Row 15 Ch3, tr in each tr and each ch-1 sp across, turn. ROSEBUD BORDER
Row 1 (RS) With RS facing, join Yarn B in corner to work into row ends along a long edge, ch3, tr in st at base of ch-3, skipping tr posts, v-st in the top of the st at each row end across, 2tr in the base of the last st. Fasten off.
Row 2 (RS) Join Yarn C in sp between first 2 tr, beg-pc in same sp, (ch2, pc) in ch-1 sp of each v-st to last 2 tr, pc in sp between last 2 tr, turn.
Fasten off.
Row 3 (WS) Join Yarn G in first st of Row 1, ch5 (counts as long htr, ch2), *htr in next sp between v-sts of Row 1, pulling st up to the height of the current row, ch2; rep from * to last st, htr in last st of Row 1, pulling st up to height of current row, turn.
Row 4 (RS) (Dc, htr, dc) in each ch-2 sp across. Fasten off.
SAMPLER BORDER
Row 1 (RS) With RS facing, join Yarn A in corner to work into Row ends along opposite long edge, ch1, (does not count as st throughout), loosely work 2dc in each row end across, 1dc in corner. Fasten off. [403 sts] Row 2 (RS) With RS facing, join Yarn F in first st, ch1, dc in each st across, turn.
Row 3 (WS) Ch1, dc in first st, *ch1, skip next dc, dc in next st; repeat from * across. Fasten off. Row 4 (WS) Join Yarn E in first st of last row, ch1, dc in first st, dc in next ch-1 sp, *ch1, skip dc, dc in next ch-1 sp; repeat from * to last st, dc in last st, turn. Row 5 (RS) Ch3 (counts as htr, ch1), (2-htr cluster, ch1) in each ch-1 sp to last st, htr in last st. Fasten off. Row 6 (RS) Join Yarn D in top of beg ch-2, ch1, 2dc in each ch-1 sp across, dc in last st.

Row 7 (RS) Join Yarn F in first st of last row, working in back loops only; ch1, pdc in first st, *dc in each of next 3 sts, pdc in next st; repeat from * to last 2 sts, dc in last 2 sts.
Fasten off and weave in ends before adding final Blossom border.
BLOSSOM BORDER
Row 1 (RS) With RS facing, join Yarn A in corner of Rosebud Border to work along the two short edges and one long edge of Scarf. Work Blossom sts evenly around these three edges, leaving a gap (approx 2.5cm) between ss, and making the last ss of each edge finish in the corner. At each corner work a Blossom st with the ss into the same corner as the previous ss.
Fasten off and weave in all ends. Block edging flat.
FLOWERS AND LEAVES
Make a variety of small and large flowers and
leaves in the colours of your choice to adorn the RS of the scarf.
SMALL FLOWER
Ch6, ss to first ch to join into a ring.
Round 1 (RS) Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), 15dc into the ring, ss to first dc to join. [15 sts]
Round 2 Ch1, *(dc ch3, 3-tr cluster, ch1) in next st, skip 2 dc; repeat from * 4 more times, ss to first dc to join. Fasten off leaving a long tail.
LARGE FLOWER
Rounds 1-2 Repeat Rounds 1-2 of Small Flower. Round 3 Work behind Round 2 and in unworked dc of Round 1, (ch3, dc in each of unworked dc) 5 times, ch3, ss into base of first of ch-3. Round 4 *(Ch1, dc, ch4, 3ttr, 2-tr cluster, 3ttr, ch4, dc) in ch-3 sp, dc in each of the next 2 dc; repeat from 5 times ending with ss into first dc to join. Fasten off leaving a long tail.
LEAVES
Round 1 (RS) Ch12, dc in second ch from the hook, dc in next 2 ch, htr in next 3 ch, tr in next 3 ch, htr in next ch, (dc, ch1, dc) in last ch, working along opposite side of starting ch, htr in next ch, tr in next 3 ch, htr in next 3 ch, dc in next 3 ch, ss in first dc to join.
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Pin Flowers and Leaves to the RS of the scarf and use tail ends to sew securely in place.
