FLOATY PONCHO

This luxuriousl­y lacy poncho will become your go-to piece this spring when easy layering up (or down) is vital in the changeable weather. Chuck it on over your fave denims for simple weekend chic.

NOTES

The Poncho is made bottom up from an identical Front and Back piece without shaping. Sleeves are made flat separately and sewn on. Side seams are left open. The hem and cuffs are finished with an edging of Gold yarn.

FRONT AND BACK BOTH ALIKE

With 4mm hook and Yarn A, ch159.

Foundation row (RS) 2tr in fourth ch from hook (counts as 3-tr group), (ch1, skip 3 ch, 3tr in next ch) repeat to last 3 ch, ch1, tr in last ch, turn. [39 3-tr groups plus 1 tr]

Row 1 Ch3 (counts as tr), 2tr in next ch-sp, (ch1, 3tr in next ch-sp) repeat to last 3 sts, ch1, tr in top of beg ch-3, turn.

Row 1 sets pattern.

Repeat Row 1 until piece measures 60cm ending with a WS row.

Fasten off.

SLEEVES BOTH ALIKE

With a 4mm hook and Yarn A, ch51.

Foundation row (RS) Tr in fourth ch from hook and in each ch to end, turn. [49 sts]

Row 1 Ch3 (counts as tr), tr in each st to end, turn.

Repeat Row 1 until piece measures 22cm.

Fasten off.

TO MAKE UP

Join shoulder seams for 34cm from outer This is perfect for a beginner as the side seams are open, and there isn’t any shaping. edge on each side. Place markers 16cm down from shoulder seams to denote Sleeve placement. Fold Sleeves in half, place fold to shoulder seam and sew in position. Join underarm sleeve seams but leave main side seams open.

EDGING

Using a 4.5mm hook and Yarn B, work 1 round of dc along lower edge of Back and Front, and around cuff of each Sleeve. Block out garment to the measuremen­ts given, place under damp cloths and leave until dry. See ball band for washing and care instructio­ns.
