Master the wedged picot stitch to create a breezy centrepiec­e for any nursery. The beautiful stitchwork combined with these dreamy shades is so foamily pretty, you may well want to cuddle up with it yourself.

The pattern is worked over a multiple of 6 plus 2 stitches.

BLANKET

Using Under the Sea, ch122.

Row 1 (WS) Htr in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [121 htr]

Row 2 (RS) Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), htr in BL only of each st across, turn, fasten off.

Row 3 (WS) Join Tooth Fairy in first st, ch1, dc in first st, *WP, skip 5 sts, htr in next st 2 rows below; repeat from * to last 6 sts, WP, skip 5 sts, dc in last st, turn, fasten off. Row 4 (RS) Join Tin Man in first st, ch5 (counts as ttr), *dc in ch-1 sp at top of WP, working into opposite side of ch-6 of WP, dc in next ch, htr in next ch, tr in next ch, dtr in next ch, ttr in next ch, skip next htr; repeat from * across to last WP, dc in ch-1 sp at top of WP, working into opposite side of ch-6 of WP, dc in next ch, htr in next ch, tr in next ch, dtr in next ch, ttr2tog over The pattern is repeated eight times in the blanket – use the picture below as a guide. next ch and last dc, turn, fasten off. Row 6 (RS) Ch1, htr in BL only of each st across, turn, fasten off.

Row 7 Join Tin Man in first st, repeat Row 3.

Row 8 Join Tooth Fairy in first st, repeat Row 4.

Row 9 Join Under the Sea in first st, repeat Row 5.

Row 10 Repeat Row 6.

Rows 3-10 set the pattern.

Rows 11-66 Repeat Rows 3-10 seven more times.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
