NOTES

The Draught Excluder sleeve is worked in joined rounds. Follow the Chart below for the pattern – each square on the Chart is 1 dc. Read the Chart from right to left. It repeats six times each round and three times along the length of the sleeve. When changing colour mid-row, twist the yarn ends together. Pick up the new colour in the last yrh of the previous stitch. Carry the unused strands across the top of the work at the back, trapping it within the stitches.

TO MAKE UP

Stuff the Draught Excluder from each end. You can avoid lumps by inserting small amounts of stuffing at a time and massaging the sleeve to ease out any bumps. Once stuffed, join the end circles to each end of using a dc seam. Fasten off.

TASSELS

Using Ficelle, wrap yarn 30 times around a piece of cardboard 6cm wide. Take a 20cm length of yarn and pass it under all strands at one end of the card and knot securely. Leave tails for sewing to the End Circles. Cut through all strands at opposite end of card. Take another 20cm length of yarn and wrap several times around the tassel approx 1cm from the tie’s end, knot and tuck away the ends. Trim tassels if required.

TO MAKE UP

Using a tapestry needle, secure the Tassels to each end of the Draught Excluder through the centre of the End Circles.
