LEG WARMERS

■ DMC Natura Medium (100% cotton, 50g/75m), 2 balls of Vanilla (03)

1 ball of each: Orange Tree (109), Emerald (138), Amethyst (06), Buttercup (99), Super Red (55)

A 4mm (US G/6) hook

A 5.5mm (US I/9) hook

TENSION

Each Motif measures 5.5x5.5cm (2 x2 in)

MEASUREMENTS

Each Leg Warmer measures 17x30cm (6 x11 in) when laid flat

MOTIF MAKE 30

Using a 5.5mm hook and any colour except Vanilla, make a magic loop.

Round 1 (RS) Ch2 (does not count as st), (4htr into loop, ch1) 4 times, ss to first htr to join. [16 htr, 4 ch-1 sps]

Fasten off.

Join Vanilla into any ch-1 sp.

Round 2 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), *(dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 sp, dc in bl of next 4 sts; repeat from * three times more, ss to first st to join. [24 dc, 4 ch-1 sps]

Round 3 Ch1, dc in bl of first st, *(dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 sp, dc in bl of each st to next ch-1 sp; repeat from * around, ss in first dc to join. [32 dc, 4 ch-1 sps]

Fasten off and weave in ends.

TO MAKE UP

With WS facing, join the Motifs into a 5x6 rectangle. The two shorter sides of each rectangle should then be joined together to form the Leg Warmer.

EDGING

Using a 4mm hook, join Vanilla to the top edge.

Round 1 Ch1, dc around the top edge, working 8 sts into each Motif, ss to first dc to join. [48 sts]

Round 2 Ch1, (dc2tog) around, ss to first dc to join. [24 sts]

Repeat the edging on the bottom edge. Repeat for the second Leg Warmer.
