FLORAL GRANNY SQUARE BLANKET
Welcome good vibes with these rainbow brights
Take home décor from drab to fab with this vivid granny square blanket. Worked up in primary brights and finished with tri-colour flowers, this is a straightforward make and simple enough to extend or reduce by adding or removing squares.
NOTES
The Blanket is made of 68 Squares and 26 Flowers, which are arranged according to the Layout Diagram. The Border is added after the Squares are joined, and Flowers are sewn on to each protruding corner of the Border.

GRANNY SQUARE MAKE 68
Make 44 single colour Squares and 24 multicoloured Squares using the same pattern. Single Squares:
Square 1 Make 8 using Crimson Red.
Square 2 Make 7 using Zesty Orange.
Square 3 Make 7 using Citrus Yellow.
Square 4 Make 7 using Lime Green.
Square 5 Make 7 using Deep Teal.
Square 6 Make 8 using Thistle Purple Multicoloured Squares:
Make 4 in each colour sequences:
Square A Crimson Red, Zesty Orange, Citrus Yellow, Lime Green, Deep Teal, Thistle Purple.
Square B Thistle Purple, Crimson Red, Zesty Orange, Citrus Yellow, Lime Green, Deep Teal.
Square C Lime Green, Deep Teal, Thistle Purple, Crimson Red, Zesty Orange, Citrus Yellow.

Make 13 each in the following colour sequences:
Flower 1 Citrus Yellow, Zesty Orange, Crimson Red.
Flower 2 Lime Green, Deep Teal, Thistle Purple.
Using first colour, ch5, ss into first ch to form a loop.
Round 1 (RS) Ch1 (doesn’t count as st throughout), 10dc into ring, ss to first ch to join. [10 dc]
Round 2 (RS) (Ch3, skip 1 st, ss into next st) 5 times. [5 ch-3 sps]
Round 3 (Dc, 4tr, dc) into each ch-3 sp, ss to first dc. [5 petals]
Fasten off first colour, join second colour between two petals of previous round.
Round 4 Working behind the petals, (ch5, ss between next 2 petals of previous round) 5 times, ss to first ch-5 sp. [5 ch-5 sps]
Round 5 (Dc, 8tr, dc) into each ch-5 sp, ss to first dc. [5 petals]
Fasten off second colour, join the third colour between two petals from Round 5.
Round 6 Working behind petals, (ch6, ss between next 2 petals of previous round) 5 times, ss to first ch-6 sp. [5 ch-6 sp]
Round 7 (Dc, 10tr, dc) in each ch-6 sp, ss to first dc. [5 petals]
Fasten off third colour and weave in ends.
JOIN SQUARES
Arrange the Squares as shown in the Layout Guide. Join them together through back loops only by either sewing or slip stitching them together.
Join the Squares in diagonal strips first. Once you have 12 strips, two of which are a single Square, join strips together.
BORDER
Join Lime Green in corner ch-2 sp on Blanket.
Round 1 (RS) (Ch3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr) into ch-2 sp, 3tr into each ch-1 sp around, working (3tr, ch2, 3tr) into each ch-2 corner sp, and skipping all corners where 3 Squares are joined together. Join Deep Teal in corner ch-2 sp of Round 1.
Round 2 (RS) As Round 1.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
TO FINISH
Attach a Flower to each ch-2 sp on Round 2 of Border, alternating between Flower 1 and Flower 2.
