TENSION

14 sts and 8.5 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over half treble using a 4mm hook, or size needed to obtain correct tension

Cushion measures 70x46cm (27 x18in)

ABBREVIATI­ONS

pompom bobble Ch4, 4tr cluster in 3rd ch from hook, ch3, 4tr cluster in 3rd ch from hook, ss in last ch of beg ch-4, ch1 to secure

NOTES

Cushion is made up of a Front and Back Panel. The Front Panel is formed by joining the squares made previously. The Back Panel is worked in rows.

You can use a cushion pad size upto the measuremen­ts stated for the cushion. We have used a a slightly smaller cushion pad to keep the images on each motif clear.

You’ve made your six squares and now it’s time to hook up the border and back to complete your cushion – just in time for the post-turkey slump. To make the whole thing, use the materials list on the right.

CUSHION

FRONT PANEL

With RS facing and using Gold and Silver Lamé, ss your Squares together using the image as a guide.

BACK PANEL

Using Fir Green, ch102.

Row 1 Htr in third ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [100 htr]

Row 2 Ch2 (counts as htr), htr in each st across, turn.

Rows 3-4 As Row 2.

Change to Red.

Rows 5-8 As Row 2.

Change to Fir Green.

Rows 9-40 As Row 2, changing colour every 4 rows.

Fasten off.

Block Back and Front Panels to the measuremen­ts given.

TO MAKE UP

Place Front and Back Panels together RS facing out.

Using Red, dc evenly around the edges (78dc along short edges, 111 dc across long edges and 3dc into each corner, inserting cushion pad as you work. [404 sts]

Fasten off.

POMPOM TRIM

Pompom trim is worked down both short sides of the Cushion.

With Back Panel facing, join Red into top left-hand corner of Cushion.

Row 1 *Pompom bobble, skip st at base of pompom bobble, dc in next 9 sts; rep from * seven more times, dc in next st, pompom bobble, into next corner.

Fasten off and repeat Row 1 on the opposite edge of your Cushion.

Weave in all ends.
