TWO TONE TURTLENECK

One-up your winter jumper game with this ultra-cosy turtleneck, designed by Liliana Buce

When the chill beds in, let this comfortabl­e turtleneck be your winter weather consolatio­n. A loose roll neck and pair of close-fitting sleeves add extra cuddle – and a stylish twist – to the classic jumper style.

NOTES

Sweater is worked in pieces which are joined together at the end. The Turtleneck is worked in rounds over the neckline space on the Front and Back after the shoulders have been joined. The model is wearing a size 12-14.

SWEATER

FRONT

Using Yarn A, ch63 (70: 77: 84: 90).

Row 1 (RS) Htr in the third ch from the hook, htr in each ch across, turn. [61 (68: 75: 82: 88) sts]

Rows 2-10 Ch2 (does not count as a st throughout), htr in each st across, turn. Change to Yarn B.

Rows 11-25 Ch2, htr in every st across, turn.

Rows 26-40 Ch2, htr in bl of each st across, turn.

Row 41 Ch2, htr in each st across.

Repeat Row 41 another 19 (21: 23: 25: 27) times.

Fasten off.

BACK

Using Yarn A, ch63 (70: 77: 84: 90).

Rows 1-25 As Rows 1-25 of Front, changing to Yarn B at the end of Row 10.

[61 (68: 75: 82: 88) sts]

Row 26 Ch2, htr in each st across, turn. Repeat Row 26 another 34 (36: 38: 40: 42) times.

Fasten off.

SLEEVES MAKE 2

Using Yarn A, ch30 (32: 34: 37: 39).

Row 1 Htr in third ch from hook, htr in each ch across, turn. [28 (30: 32: 34: 36) sts]

Rows 2-10 Ch2, htr in every st across, turn. Change to Yarn B.

Row 11 Ch2, (2htr in next st, htr in next st) across, turn. [42 (45: 48: 51: 54) sts]

Rows 12-13 Ch2, htr in each st across, turn.

Row 14 Ch2, 2htr in first st, htr in each st to final st, 2htr in final st, turn. [44 (47: 50: 53: 56) sts]

Rows 15-16 Ch2, htr in each st across, turn. Repeat Rows 12-16 another 3 (7: 7: 7: 7) times. [50 (61: 64: 67: 70) sts]

Fasten off sizes 12-14 only.

SIZE 8 10 ONLY

Repeat Row 12 of Sleeve another 2 times. Repeat Rows 12-16 another 3 times. [56 sts] Repeat Row 12 of Sleeve another 2 times. Fasten off.

SIZES 16 18, 20 22 AND 24 26 ONLY

Next row Ch2, 2htr in first st, htr in each st across. [- (-: 65: 68: 71) sts]

Fasten off.

TO MAKE UP

We recommend blocking the Front, Back and Sleeves before joining. Pin out to

measuremen­ts stated and spray with water. Leave until completely dry.

Place Front and Back together with WS facing out. Sew shoulder seam together over 16 (19:

22: 25: 28) sts on each side.

Pin the Sleeves in place making sure there are an even number of sts over the Front and Back. Once happy with the position, sew the Sleeves into place then seam the sides and Sleeves on the Jumper.

TURTLENECK

Turtleneck is worked in rounds.

Join Yarn A into any st from neckline.

Round 1 (RS) Ch2, htr in each st around Front and Back, ss to top of beg htr, turn.

[58 (60: 62: 64: 64) sts]

Round 2 (WS) Ch2, htr in each st around, ss to beg htr, turn.

Repeat Round 2 another 10 (10: 10: 10: 10) times.or to desired length.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
