Cap it off

Stand out from the crowd in this striking, two tone bobble hat, designed by Sara Huntington

-

Aran-weight yarn held double stranded equals a quick-hook hat that’s heavy enough for the bitterest winter weather. The blue tones we’ve used here are a great match for denim clothes.

NOTES

The Hat is worked in rows from the bottom up as a flat piece and seamed together at the end. The ribbing is worked first in short rows with the main stitch pattern worked into the long edge.

For the main stitch pattern you will use two strands of yarn held together as one. To prepare, wind off half of Ruka and Saana so you have 2 balls of each.

Change colours on the final yrh of st before colour change is indicated, carry unused yarn up the side of the work ready to pick up again as directed. Chain spaces are not included in stitch counts unless otherwise stated.

TO FINISH

Using the tail seam, the two short sides of the work together from the top, changing to Natura to seam the ribbed section. Hide the carried yarns on the WS so they are not visible from the RS of the Hat. Using Natura, make a pompom and attach to the top of the Hat

Weave in all ends.
