Next row Ch2 (does not count as st), skip tr at base of 2 ch (1 st decreased), tr in each tr to last 2 tr, tr2tog over last 2 sts (1 st decreased), turn. Rep last row twice more.

Place markers 4 sts in from each end of last row – 4 sts before the first marker from Right Front, 68 (76: 82: 90: 98) sts between the markers from the Back and the rem 4 sts after 2nd marker from Left Front.

SLEEVES MAKE 2

Sleeves are worked in rounds BUT the work is turned at the end of each round to work

alternatin­g RS and WS rows; the tr fabric formed will match the tr fabric on the Body. Ch36 (36: 38: 38: 40).

Round 1 (RS) Tr in fourth ch from hook, tr in each ch to end, ss to top of beg ch-3 to join into the round, turn. [34 (34: 36: 36: 38) sts]

Round 2 Ch3 (counts as first tr throughout), tr in each tr to end, ss to top of beg ch-3, turn. Last round forms tr fabric.

Round 3 Ch3, tr in st at base of ch (1 st increased), tr in each tr to last tr, 2tr in last tr

(1 st increased), ss to top of beg ch-3, turn. Last round sets the increases.

Working increases as set, cont in tr fabric, shaping Sleeve by increasing 1 st at each end of every foll 4th (2nd: 2nd: 2nd: 2nd) round to 42 (38: 40: 48: 54) sts, then on every foll 6th (4th: 4th: 4th: 4th) round until there are 48 (52: 54: 58: 62) sts.

Sew the underarm seams and block following the instructio­ns on the ball band.

RIGHT FRONT EDGING

With WS facing, attach yarn to Right Front opening edge at top of neckband, ch1 (does not count as st throughout), now work one row of dc evenly along entire front opening edge to base of Right Front opening edge, turn.

Next row (RS) Ch1, dc in each dc to end.

Fasten off.

LEFT FRONT EDGING

Work as given for Right Front Edging, attaching yarn to base of Left Front Opening edge. Weave in all ends, attaching buttons as in photograph and using ‘holes’ of crochet as buttonhole­s. Weave in any remaining ends.
