It’s hard to imagine life without our four-legged companions. They’re our best friends, our biggest supporters and, for many, they’re truly a part of the family. Our devoted dogs can make life so much happier, whether they’re pottering by your side on a walk or curling up at your feet while you crochet. And now, in these uncertain times, their love is more important than ever before. That’s why it’s no surprise the Great British Dogs website, sponsored by dog food brand Winalot, has been flooded with hundreds of wonderful stories about the nation’s furry friends. These heart-warming tales have shown how dogs have brought real joy – and a stray ball or two! – to countless homes across the country. What’s more, it’s clear to see just how much support they’ve o ered their owners when they’ve gone through di cult points in their lives. Olympic gold-medallist and longtime dog owner Greg Rutherford got the Great British Dogs website rolling with an uplifting story about his beloved dogs, Murphy and Gus. “If you’ve had a really bad day and all you’ve got is this soppy-looking, waggy-tailed dog in front of you, it really can lift your mood,” says Greg. “For me, having dogs creates the perfect family.” If you think your hound is a real hero too, why not tell us all about your precious pet? Not only will they have pride of place among the other Great British Dogs on the site, but they’ll also be in with a chance of winning Dog of the Month – a coveted title that comes with a bundle of fantastic doggy treats, including some Winalot pouches and a personalised dog bed and bowl. Have a read of the stories here for a little inspiration.
