Give your phone the best seat in the (dog) house. Designed by Sarah-Jane Hicks ■ King Cole Giza Cotton 4ply (100% cotton, 50g/158m), 1 ball of each: Argent (2249), Cream (2191), Coral (2196)

■ A 3mm (US C/2 or D/3) hook

■ 2 safety eyes, 10mm

■ Toy stuffing

TENSION

Tension is not critical for this project, but it may affect the yarn quantities required

MEASUREMENTS

Phone Holder measures approx 22x5cm (8 x2in)

NOTES

Pattern is worked in the amigurumi style unless otherwise stated. Work stitches in a continuous spiral without closing off each round with a slip stitch. You may find it helpful to mark the first st of the round, moving the marker up as you go.

Refer to the images as a guide when joining.

PUPPY PHONE REST

EYE PATCH

Using Cream, ch2.

Round 1 (RS) 6dc in second ch from hook. [6 sts]

Round 2 2dc in each st around. [12 sts] Round 3 (1dc, 2dc in next st) 5 times. [18 sts] Ss in next 3 sts.

Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew Patch to Head.

HEAD

Using Argent, ch8.

Round 1 (RS) 2dc in second ch from hook, dc in next 5 ch, 3dc in final ch, turn to work into opposite side of foundation ch, dc in next 5 sts, dc in final ch. [16 sts]

Round 2 2dc in next 2 sts, dc in next 5 sts, 2dc in next 3 sts, dc in next 5 sts, 2dc in final st. [22 sts]

Round 3 (1dc, 2dc in next st) twice, 5dc, (1dc, 2dc in next st) 3 times, 6dc, 2dc in final st.

[28 sts]

Round 4 (2dc, 2dc in next st) twice, 5dc, (2dc, 2dc in next st) 3 times, 7dc, 2dc in final st.

[34 sts]

Round 5 (3dc, 2dc in next st) twice, 5dc, (3dc, 2dc in next st) 3 times, 8dc, 2dc in final st. [40 sts]

Rounds 6-11 Dc in each st around.

Round 12 (8dc, dc2tog) 4 times. [36 sts] Round 13 (4dc, dc2tog) 6 times. [30 sts] Round 14 Dc in each st around.

Round 15 (3dc, dc2tog) 6 times. [24 sts] Round 16 Dc in each st around.

Round 17 (2dc, dc2tog) 6 times. [18 sts] Round 18 Dc in each st around.

Round 19 (Dc, dc2tog) 6 times. [12 sts] Fasten off.

Insert eyes between Rounds 10-11, inserting one eye through centre of Patch first. Position Patch so the 3ss are facing the centre of Head, then sew in place.

Stuff Head and sew the opening closed.

CHEEKS (MAKE 2)

Using Coral, ch2.

Round 1 6dc in second ch from hook, ss to beg dc. [6 sts]

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Using tail, sew Cheeks to Head.

EARS (MAKE 2)

Make one in Cream and one in Argent.

Ch7.

Row 1 Dc in second ch from hook, dc in each st across, turn. [6 sts]

Rows 2-6 Ch1 (does not count as st), dc in each st along, turn.

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Using the tail, sew Ears to Head. You can use the image as a guide.

BODY

Using Argent, ch29.

Round 1 Dc in second ch from hook, dc in next 26 ch, 2dc in next ch, turn to work into opposite side of foundation ch, dc in next 27 ch. [56 sts] Rounds 2-48 Dc in each st around.

Fasten off.

Stuff the Body and use the tail to sew the sts from Round 48 closed.

Sew the Head to the Body.

LEGS (MAKE 2)

Make one in Cream and one in Argent. Ch2.

Rounds 1-3 (RS) As Rounds 1-3 of Eye Patch. [18 sts]

Rounds 4-5 Dc in each st around.

Round 6 (4dc, dc2tog) 3 times. [15 sts] Change to Argent.

Rounds 7-14 Dc in each st around.

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Stuff Leg, fold top flat and sew to Body.

TAIL

Using Argent, ch2.

Round 1 (RS) 4dc in second ch from hook. [4 sts]

Round 2 (1dc, 2dc in next st) twice. [6 sts] Round 3 Dc in each st around.

Round 4 (1dc, 2dc in next st) 3 times. [9 sts] Rounds 5-8 Dc in each st around.

Round 9 (1dc, dc2tog) 3 times. [6 sts] Fasten off leaving a long tail. Stuff Tail and sew to Body.

SPOTS (MAKE 2)

Using Cream, ch2

Rounds 1-3 (RS) As Rounds 1-3 of Eye Patch. [18 sts]

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Using tail, sew Spots to Body.

TO FINISH

Using black stranded cotton, embroider a nose and mouth. Using Cream or Argent, embroider two straight lines over Rounds 2-4 for paws.
