HIGH FLYER SQUARE BODY
Using Yarn A, ch7.
Round 1 (RS) Dc in second ch from hook and next 4 ch, 3dc in next ch, turn to work along opposite side of foundation ch, dc in next 5 ch, ch6, ss in second ch from hook and next 4 ch (right antennae made), ss in first st of the round, ch6, ss in second ch from hook and next 4 ch (left antennae made), ss in the first st of the round. [25 sts]
Fasten off. LEFT WING
Join Yarn B in second st of Body.
Row 1 (RS) Ch1 (does not count as st), dc in first 4 sts, turn. [4 sts]
Row 2 (WS) Ch4, dc in the second ch from hook and next 2 ch, dc in next 3 sts, ch4, dc in the second ch from hook and next 2 ch, ss in final st, turn. [10 sts]
Row 3 Ch1, dc in ss, htr in next st, 2tr in next st, 4tr in next st, turn to work along the opposite side of ch, 2tr in next st, htr in next st, (skip next st, dc in next st) twice, htr in next st, 2tr in next st, 4tr in next st, turn to work along the opposite side of ch, 2tr in next st, htr in next st, (dc, ss) in the next st. [25 sts]
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RIGHT WING
Skip next 4 sts from Body and join Yarn B in next st.
Row 1 (RS) Ch1, dc in first 4 sts, turn. [4 sts]
Rows 2-3 Repeat Rows 2-3 of Left
Wing.
Fasten off. BORDER
Pm in the 7th, 18th and 21st sts of Row 3 of Left Wing. Pm in the 4th, 8th and 18th sts of Row 3 of Right Wing.
Using Yarn C, make a slip knot.
Round 1 (RS) Ch1, dc in the first marked st on Left Wing (top of the wing), dc in next st, (ch6, dc in next marked st on Left Wing) twice, dc in next st, ch6, dc in next marked st on Right Wing, dc in next st, (ch6, dc in next marked st on Right
Wing) twice, dc in next st, ch5, dc in top of right antennae, ch4, dc in left antennae, ch4, ss in first ch. [12 sts, 8 ch-sps]
Round 2 (RS) Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), (2tr, ch2, 3tr, ch1) in first ch-sp, *(3tr, ch1) twice in next ch-sp, (3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch1) in next ch-sp; rep from * twice more, 3tr in next ch-sp, ch1, 3tr in same ch-sp as beg ch-3, ch1, ss to top of beg ch-3. [48 sts, 16 ch-sps]
Fasten off.
Join Yarn D in any ch-2 sp.
Round 3 Ch3, (2tr, ch2, 3tr, ch1) in same sp, *(3tr, ch1) in each ch-1 sp to next corner, (3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch1) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more omitting final corner on last rep, ss to top of beg ch-3.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
