YOU WILL NEED

■ Any 4ply yarn in bright pink,

purple and pale pink

■ A 2.5mm (US B/1 or C/2) hook

LOOKING GLASS SQUARE

Using bright pink, make a magic loop.

Round 1 (RS) Ch2, tr in loop (counts as 2-tr cl throughout), ch1, (2-tr cl in loop, ch1) 7 times, ss to top of beg cl. [8 cl, 8 ch-1 sps]

Fasten off.

Join pale pink in any ch-1 sp.

Round 2 Ch2, (tr, ch2, 2-tr cl) in same sp, (2-tr cl, ch2, 2-tr cl) in each ch-1 sp around, ss to top of beg cl. [16 cl, 8 ch-2 sps]

Fasten off.

Join purple in any ch-2 sp.

Round 3 Ch3 (counts as tr), (tr, ch2, 2tr) in same ch-2 sp, *FPtr around post of cl from Round 1, 3dc in next ch-2 sp, FPtr around next cl from Round 1**, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more ending final rep at **, ss to top of beg ch-3. [36 sts, 4 ch-2 sps]

Round 4 Ss into ch-2 sp, ch3 (counts as dc, ch2), dc in same sp, (ch1, skip next st, dc in next st) 4 times, ch1, skip next st, (dc, ch2, dc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more omitting final corner, ss into first ch-2 sp.

[24 sts, 20 ch-1 sps, 4 ch-2 sps]

Fasten off.

Join pale pink in any ch-2 sp.

Round 5 Ch3 (counts as dc, ch2), dc in same sp, ch1, skip next st, dc in next st, ch1, FPtr around FPtr from Round 3, ch1, dc in central ch-1 sp across side, ch1, skip next st, FPtr around next FPtr, ch1, dc in final ch-1 sp across side, ch1, (dc, ch2, dc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more omitting final corner, ss into first ch-2 sp.

Round 7 Ch3 (counts as tr), (tr, ch2, 2tr) in same ch-2 sp, *(skip next st, 2tr in next ch-1 sp) across to next ch-2 sp, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more omitting final corner, ss to top of beg ch-3. [72 sts, 4 ch-2 sps]

Round 8 Ch1 (does not count as st), *dc in each st to ch-2 sp, 3dc in ch-2 sp; rep from * around, ss to beg dc. [84 sts]

Fasten off and weave in ends.
