green, white and yellow
■ A 3mm (US C/2 or D/3) hook
NOTES
The Square is worked on the RS for Rounds 1-5, WS for Rounds 6-7, then RS for the remaining rounds.
WEDDING DAY SQUARE
Using orange, make a magic loop.
Round 1 (RS) Ch3 (counts as tr throughout),15tr in loop, ss to top of beg ch3. [16 sts]
Round 2 (RS) (Ch4, skip 3 sts, ss in next st) 4 times. [4 ch-4 sps] The next round is worked into the skipped sts from Round 1. Work behind the ch-4 sps from Round 2.
Round 3 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), skip first st, ss in next st, (ch5, skip 3 sts, ss in next st) 4 times. [4 ch-5 sps]
Fasten off.
Join green in any ch-5 sp.
Round 4 *Ch4, dc in same ch-5 sp, (ch6, dc in same ch-5 sp) twice, (ch8, dc in same ch-5 sp) twice, (ch6, dc in same ch-5 sp) twice, ch4, dc in same ch-5 sp, ss in next ch-5 sp across; rep from * 3 times more working final ss in base of beg ch-4.
Fasten off.
Join pink in any ch-4 sp from Round 2.
Round 5 *Ch2, (2tr, 2dtr, 2tr, ch2, ss) in same ch-4 sp, ss in next ch-4 sp; rep from * 3 times more, turn.
Fasten off.
With WS facing, join white in post of any ss from Round 3.
Round 6 (WS) Ch7 (counts as dc, ch6), (dc in post of next ss, ch6) 3 times, ss in first chain of beg ch-7. [4 sts, 4 ch-6 sps]
Round 7 (WS) Ss in first ch-6 sp, ch3, (2htr, 2dc, 2htr, tr, ch1) in same ch-6 sp, (tr, 2htr, 2dc, 2htr, tr, ch1) in each ch-6 sp around, ss to top of beg ch-3, turn. [32 sts, 4 ch-1 sps]
Round 8 (RS) Ss in ch1-sp, ch5 (counts as tr, ch2), 2tr in same sp, *ch3, skip 3 sts, tr in next 2 sts, ch3, skip 3 sts, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in next ch-1 sp; rep from * twice more, ch3, skip 3 sts, tr in next 2 sts, ch3, skip 3 sts, tr in same ch-1 sp as beg ch-5, ss to third ch of beg ch-5.
[24 sts, 8 ch-3 sps, 4 ch-2 sps]
Round 9 Ss in first ch-2 sp, ch1 (counts as dc), (dc, ch2, 2dc) in same ch-2 sp, *dc in bl of each ch and st to next ch-2 sp, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more omitting final corner, ss to beg ch-1. [64 sts, 4 ch-2 sps]
Fasten off.
Join yellow any st.
Round 10 Ch2 (counts as htr), *htr in bl of each st to ch-2 sp, (2htr, ch2, 2htr) in ch-2 sp; rep from * around, ss to top of beg ch-2. [80 sts, 4 ch-2 sps]
Fasten off.
Join white in any ch-2 sp.
Round 11 Ch4 (counts as htr, ch2), 2htr in same sp, *ch16, skip 20 sts, (2htr, ch2, 2htr) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * twice more, ch16, skip 20 sts, htr in same ch-2 sp as beg ch-4, ss to second ch of beg ch-4.
[16 sts, 4 ch-2 sps, 4 ch-16 sps]
Round 12 Ss in corner ch-2 sp, ch4 (counts as htr, ch2), 2htr in same sp, *ch18, skip ch-16 sp, (2htr, ch2, 2htr) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * twice more, ch18, skip ch-16 sp, htr in same ch-2 sp as beg ch-4, ss to second ch of beg ch-4.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
