STRAPS (MAKE 2)

Using Deep Sea, ch6.

Row 1 (RS) Dc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [5 dc]

Rows 2-182 Ch1, dc in every st across, turn. Round 183 (Edging) Ch1, dc in each st and row-end around, ss to beg dc. Fasten off.

Using Deep Blue, sew the canvas fabric to the WS of each Strap.

Leaving approx 12 sts from the lower edge of the Back, mark out 5 sts where each Strap will be joined.

JOIN STRAPS

Join Gypsum in first st across any straight edge.

Row 1 (RS) Ch1, dc in each st to corner, dc next 5 sts to 5 marked sts at lower edge, dc in each st up next edge of Strap, dc the 5 sts at the top of the strap to the top of the Bag. Fasten off.

Rep Row 1 on the second Strap.

AEROPLANE PATCH

Using Leaf, ch3.

Row 1 (RS) Dc in second ch from hook and next ch, turn. [2 dc]

Row 2 Ch1, 2dc in each st across, turn.

[4 dc]

Rows 3-17 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn. Row 18 Ch1, dc in each st across, ch2, turn.

[4 dc, 2 ch]

Row 19 Dc in second ch from hook and each dc across, ch2, turn. [5 dc, 2 ch]

Row 20 Dc in second ch from hook and each dc across, ch3, turn. [6 dc, 3 ch]

Row 21 Dc in second ch from hook and each ch and dc across. [8 dc] Fasten off.

WINGS

With RS facing, join Leaf in end of Row 6.

Row 1 (RS) Ch1, dc in next 6 row-ends, turn.

[6 sts]

Row 2 (WS) Ch1, dc in each st across, turn. Row 3 Ch1, dc2tog first 2 sts, dc in each st across, turn. [5 sts]

Rows 4-5 As Rows 2-3. [4 sts]

Row 6 As Row 2.

Row 7 Ch1, dc2tog first 2 sts, dc in each st across, ch2, turn. [3 sts, 2 ch]

Row 8 Dc in second ch from hook and each st across. [4 dc]

Rows 9-12 Rep Rows 3-4 another 2 times. [2 dc] Fasten off.

Turn so the opposite long edge on Aeroplane is facing and join yarn in the 11th row-end. Rep Rows 1-12 of Wing. Fasten off.

EDGING

Using Citronelle, work a round of dc around Aeroplane, working 3dc in the tips of the Wings and the corners of the Tail. Fasten off.

FERRY PATCH

Using Coral, ch15.

Row 1 (WS) Dc in second ch from hook and every ch across, turn. [14 dc]

Row 2 (RS) Ch1, dc in every st across, ch3, turn. [14 dc, 3 ch]

Row 3 Ch1, dc in second ch from hook and every st across, ch3, turn. [16 dc, 3 ch]

Rows 4-5 As Row 3. [20 dc, 3 ch]

Row 6 Dc in second ch from hook and every st across, turn. [22 dc] Fasten off.

Join Citronelle into the fifth st across.

Row 7 Ch1, dc in next 14 sts, turn leaving rem sts unworked. [14 dc]

Row 8 Ch1, dc in first 2 sts, (change to Coral, dc in next 2 sts, change to Citronelle, dc in next st) 3 times, dc in next 2 sts, turn leaving final st unworked. [13 dc]

Row 9 Ch1, dc2tog first 2 sts, dc in next st, (change to Coral, dc in next 2 sts, change to Citronelle, dc in next st) 3 times, dc in final st, turn. [12 dc]

Fasten off Coral only.

Row 10 Ch1, dc in first 11 sts, turn leaving last st unworked. [11 dc] Fasten off.

CHIMNEY

With WS facing, join Citronelle in sixth st across.

Row 1 (WS) Ch1, dc in st at base of ch-1 and next 2 sts, turn. [3 dc]

Rows 2-5 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn. Fasten off.

EDGING

With RS facing and using Gypsum, work a round of dc around Ferry, working 3dc in each corner. Fasten off.

CAMPERVAN PATCH

Refer to the Chart on page 95 when making the main section of the Campervan Patch. Using Gypsum, ch17.

Row 1 (RS) Dc in second ch from hook and every ch across, turn. [16 dc]

Row 2 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn.

Rows 3-4 Ch1, dc in first 7 sts, change to Coral, dc in next 2 sts, change to Gypsum, dc in final 7 sts, turn.

Cont following the Chart for all colour changes.

Rows 5-11 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn. Row 12 Ch1, dc2tog first 2 sts, dc to final st, turn leaving last st unworked. [14 dc]

Row 13 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn.

Rows 14-15 Rep Rows 12-13. [12 dc]

Row 16 As Row 12. [10 dc] Fasten off.
