YOU WILL NEED

■ Any DK yarn cream, green, white

and black

■ Any lamé yarn in gold

■ A 4mm (US G/6) hook

■ A 3.5mm (US E/4) hook

■ A 2mm (US B/1 or C/2) hook

MEASUREMENTS

Square measures approx 12x12cm (4¾x4¾in)

NOTES

Square is worked in rows. The Bottle is made separately and sewn in place at the end.

PROSECCO POP SQUARE

Using a 4mm hook and cream, ch18. Row 1 (RS) Htr in third ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [16 sts]

Row 2 Ch2 (does not count as st throughout), htr in each st across, turn. Rows 3-12 As Row 2.

Round 13 Ch1, *dc in each st to corner, 3dc in corner, 14dc to next corner, 3dc in corner; rep from * once more, ss to beg dc.

Fasten off. BOTTLE

Using a 3.5mm hook and green, ch7. Row 1 Dc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [6 sts]

Row 2 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), dc in each st across, turn. Rows 3-10 As Row 2.

Row 11 Ch1, dc2tog, dc in next 2 sts, dc2tog, turn. [4 sts]

Row 12 Ch1, (dc2tog) twice, turn.

[2 sts] Row 13 Ch1, dc in each st across,

turn. Rows 14-16 As Row 13. Fasten off and weave in ends.

BOTTLE LABEL

Using a 3.5mm hook and white, ch7. Row 1 Dc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [6 sts]

Rows 2-3 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn.

Fasten off.

Using black, embroider ‘POP’ onto the Label.

BOTTLE TOP

Using a 2mm hook and gold, ch5.

Row 1 Dc in second ch from hook and next 3 ch, turn. [4 sts]

Rows 2-3 Ch1, dc in each st across,

turn.

Fasten off. TO FINISH

Using the image as a guide, sew the Bottle, Label and Top to the Square.

Using gold, embroider straights sts around the top of the Bottle. Weave in all ends.
