Cast on 10 sts using 4mm needles and Yarn D.

Row 1 *Inc 1; rep from * to end. [20 sts] Row 2 Knit (inverted row). Starting with a knit row and working in st st, work through the 6 rows of the Helmet Chart bringing in Yarn C where needed. Note: Remember to twist the yarns together when you change colour to prevent holes. Break Yarn C and continue with Yarn D. Row 9 Knit. Row 10 Purl. Row 11 *K2tog; rep from * to end. [10 sts] Thread the end of the yarn through the remaining stitches and through the loop of the yarn itself. Draw up the knitting tightly and finish off. With RS together, sew the row ends together from the drawn- up part, down to the inverted row, turn RS out and lightly stuff. Sew a row of running stitches along cast- on edge and draw up and sew from this point to the inverted line. Position the helmet with the silver grey square facing forwards, in the midpoint of the body. Sew to the body and the cockpit. NEXT MONTH KNIT JO ALLPORT’S HONEYCOMB BLANKET.
