FRONT
Cast on 87 ( 99: 111: 123: 135: 147) sts using 3 mm needles and Yarn A. Row 1 (RS) K2, (P1, K1) to last st, K1. Row 2 K1, (P1, K1) to end. Rep these 2 rib rows twice more. Change to 4mm needles, and joining in and breaking off colours as required, work in patt from Lace Panel Chart, or written instructions as folls: Row 1 (RS) Knit. Row 2 ( WS) Purl. Cont straight in st st as set for 14 more rows. Break Yarn A. Join in Yarn B. Rows 17-20 Beg with a K row, work 4 rows in st st. Row 21 K2, (yo, skpo, K4) to last st, K1. Rows 22, 24 and 26 Purl. Row 23 K3, (yo, skpo, K4) to end. Row 25 K4, (yo, skpo, K4) to last 5 sts, yo, skpo, K3. Row 27 K5, (yo, skpo, K4) to last 4 sts, yo, skpo, K2. Rows 28-32 Beg with a P row work 5 rows in st st. Break Yarn B. Join in Yarn A. These 32 rows form patt. Cont in patt until work measures 49cm from cast- on edge, ending after a P row.
SHAPE LEFT NECK
Next row (RS) Work across 25 ( 30: 35: 40: 45: 50) sts, turn. Cont on this group of sts for left side of neck. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 5 rows. [20 ( 25: 30: 35: 40: 45) sts] Cont straight until front measures 7 ( 8: 8: 9: 10: 10) cm from start of neck shaping, ending at side edge, after a P row.
SHAPE LEFT SHOULDER
Cast off 5(6: 7: 9: 10: 11) sts at beg of next row and the 2 foll alt rows. Work 1 row. Cast off rem 5 ( 7:9: 8: 10: 12) sts. With RS facing, slip next 37 ( 39: 41: 43: 45: 47) sts (front neck sts) on a stitch holder and leave to work later.
SHAPE RIGHT SHOULDER
Rejoin yarn to rem 25 ( 30: 35: 40: 45: 50) sts and work to end of row. Complete as left side of neck and shoulder, reversing all shaping.
BACK
Omitting neck shaping, work as front to shoulder shaping, ending after a P row. Piece should measure 56 ( 57: 57: 58: 59:
59) cm from cast- on edge.
SHAPE SHOULDERS
Cast off 5(6: 7: 9: 10: 11) sts at beg of next 6 rows, then 5 ( 7:9: 8: 10: 12) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Slip rem 47 ( 49: 51: 53: 55: 57) sts on a stitch holder and leave to work later.
SLEEVES
(WORKED TOP DOWN, MAKE 2) Cast on 67 ( 73: 79: 83: 89: 95) sts loosely using 4mm needles and Yarn A. Cont in Yarn A only, and beg with a K row, work in st st shaping sleeve by dec 1 st at each end of 7th row, then on every foll 10th ( 8th: 8th: 8th: 6th: 6th) row until 51 ( 57: 63: 67: 67: 63) sts rem, then on every foll 8th ( 8th: 6th: 6th: 6th: 4th) row until 45 ( 47: 49: 51: 53: 55) sts rem. Cont straight until sleeve measures 39 ( 40: 41: 42: 42: 43) cm, or desired length, ending after a K row and dec 6 sts evenly across last row. [39 ( 41: 43: 45: 47: 49) sts]
Change to 3 mm needles and beg row 2 for WS work 14 rows in rib as for Front. Cast off loosely in rib.
NECKBAND
Join left shoulder. Using 3 mm needles and Yarn B, and RS facing, K across held sts from back of neck, pick up and K23 ( 25: 25: 26: 28: 28) sts evenly down left front neck, K across front neck sts, finally pick up and K24 ( 26: 26: 27: 29: 29) sts evenly up right front neck. [131 ( 139: 143: 149: 157: 161) sts] Beg with a WS row, work 12 rows in rib as on front. Cast off evenly in rib.
TO MAKE UP
Join right shoulder and neckband. Stitch cast- on edge of sleeves to upper sections of back and front, centring top of sleeve with shoulder seam. Join side and sleeve seams. Weave in ends and gently block to measurements.
