Making pockets isn’t dif cult but when patterns mention words like ‘afterthought’ or ‘inset’ it can be a little intimidating. You can make pockets by adding them to your project after it’s nished, or including them as you work: patch pockets are separate pieces of fabric, which are stitched on in one complete piece to the outside of the garment; picked-up pockets are similar to patch pockets, but they are knitted onto the front of the garment; and inset pockets are created by adding a pocket to the inside of the garment.
