If you shy away from knitting homewares because you think they take too long to make, we might be able to change your mind. This bouncy pouffe is worked in Bernat Wool- Up Bulky on 6 mm circular needles and knits up in no time! Don’t be fooled by the circular needles, this living room staple is worked flat (back and forth across the needles) and seamed at the back, making it super simple to finish, too. With just the smallest amount of wrap and turn shaping, once knitted this perky pouffe will soon become a favourite among family and friends.

POUFFE

Note Pouffe is worked side to side with short-turn rows at each end. Cast on 88 sts using 6 mm needles. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows: Foundation row ( WS) Knit. Proceed in patt as follows: Row 1 (RS) K77, w&t. Leave rem sts unworked. Row 2 P65, w&t. Leave rem sts unworked. Row 3 Knit to end of row, working st and its wrap together. Row 4 Knit to end of row, working st and its wrap together. Rep last 4 rows for patt until wide (centre) section of Pouffe measures approx 173cm long, ending on a Row 3. Cast off all sts purlwise ( WS), working st and loop tog on wrapped st.

FINISHING

Sew side seam, leaving opening to insert pouffe/bean bag. Insert pouffe/bean bag and complete seam. Thread length of yarn onto tapestry needle and secure at seam. Gather ends of short-turn rows tightly tog to close top of Pouffe and fasten securely. Rep at opposite end to close bottom of Pouffe.
