The bear motif is worked using intarsia and the scarf is knitted in two pieces with a trio of garter stitch stripes. [66 ( 66: 70: 72: 76) sts] Next row Purl. Next row *K2, P2; rep from * to last 2 ( 2: 2:0: 0) sts, K2 ( 2:2: 0: 0). Next row P2 ( 2:2: 0: 0), *K2, P2; rep from * to end. Rep last 2 rows twice more. Cast off loosely in rib.
MAKING UP
Join left shoulder seam. Sew sleeves in place. Join sleeve and side seams.
SCARF (MAKE 2) Cast on 8 sts using 4mm needles and Yarn C. Work 6 rows in garter st. Change to Yarn B and work 2 rows in garter st. Change to Yarn A and work 6 rows in garter st. Change to Yarn B and work 2 rows in garter st. Continue following above pattern until piece measures 25cm. Cast off.
Attach cast on edges of scarf to the bear’s shoulders, right side facing up. Tie scarf loosely around bear’s neck.
