Dou­ble cro­chet is an easy stitch of­ten used for edg­ing knit­ted gar­ments.

Simply Knitting - - How To Knit -

1 To make a dou­ble cro­chet stitch, in­sert the hook un­der the top two loops of the first stitch on the pre­vi­ous row.

2 Wind the yarn around the hook and pull it through the stitch, giv­ing you two loops on your cro­chet hook.

3 Yarn round hook again, then pull the yarn through both loops. You’ve made one dou­ble cro­chet and have a loop on your hook ready for the next stitch.

4 For fol­low­ing rows, turn and make one turn­ing chain. T-ch doesn’t count as a st. Work first dc in the st at base of ch. At end of row work into top of t-ch.
