Cast on 85 sts using 6 mm needles. Set up row ( WS) K42, K1 and use the split ring marker to mark this stitch, (place the marker on the other side of your work to show you which side to increase and decrease), K42. Now work in garter st patt as follows, moving the marker back into the s2kpo as you go: Row 1 (RS) K1, M1, K to 1 st before marked st, s2kpo, K to last st, M1, K1. Row 2 Knit. Rep these 2 rows until side edge measures 80cm ending with a WS row. Work decreases as follows: Row 1 (decrease row) (RS) Ssk, K to 1 st before marked st, s2kpo, K to last 2 sts, k2tog. [4 sts dec’d] Row 2 Knit. Rep these 2 rows until there are 7 sts remaining, ending with a WS row. Next row (RS) Ssk, s2kpo, k2tog. [3 sts] Next row Knit. Next row S2kpo. [1 st] Fasten off.
