Welcome to our new section – The Collection! Each issue, we’ll bring you a set of three exciting patterns from our expert designer panel, all using the same yarn. You can choose to make the whole set or just cast on one (or two) of the designs to suit how much time you have on your hands – it’s up to you! Our second collection has been designed by favourite designer Fran Morgan. Filled with slip stitch and clever garter stitch sections, it makes the perfect set (not to mention gift) for modern gals about town. Coordinate with a favourite coat for maximum wear.

WRAP

Note The short rows in this pattern are called German short rows and are worked as follows: Knit to specified number of sts, turn, slip the first stitch purlwise, the yarn will be in front of work, pull the yarn and take it to the back of work to knit the next st. Taking the yarn over the stitch and pulling the yarn will make it appear that you have two stitches on the needle – it looks a bit like an ‘x’. When you come to work this pulled stitch in the next row, knit these two together.
