Yarn used knits as 4ply to this tension: 28 sts and 36 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over st st using 3 mm needles

ABBREVIATIONS

ML make loop – follow the steps below: Step 1 Knit into the next stitch, but do not allow the original stitch to fall off the LH needle. Bring the yarn between the tips of the needles, to the front. Step 2 Stretch out your left thumb so that it is in front of the knitting, and wrap the yarn around and under it. Step 3 Take the yarn between the tips of the needles, to the back (keep it around your thumb to make a loop). Step 4 Knit into the same stitch again on the LH needle, and drop the original stitch off the LH needle. Remove your thumb from the loop. Step 5 Put the tip of the LH needle through the front of the two stitches just made on the RH needle and knit them both together. K17C Knit 17 sts in Yarn C (applies to all variations of this type of instruction, for example sskB slip, slip, knit in Yarn B) B&T break and tighten – break off the yarn and thread the end through the sts left on the needle. Pull the end of the yarn to tighten the sts together.
